1. MISSION AND PURPOSE
FuoriFest rewards journalistic excellence and encourages the work of young reporters who investigate topics that have social, economic, technological, environmental and political relevance. The call is open to documentaries produced by people of age under30 years old, whether they are freelancers, collectives, agencies, consortia, associations or institutions.
2. ADMISSION CRITERIA
The competition is open to projects that are going to beor have been completed before Oct 15th, 2023, by people born before Dec 31st, 1993, who are freelancers, associated with agencies, editorial teams, or collectives. Works which are not in Italian language must be accompanied by Italian subtitles; the application form can be filled in English. Submitted audio works must be either in English or Italian language. There is no set limit to the number of works that can be submitted by an individual or an organisation. For every submission, a different application form must be completed. Works which are anonymous or without a valid contact name are not admitted. All works in the competition must comply with any obligations arising from regulations on copyright and related rights. The selection committee reserves the right to exclude works which violate copyright laws. In any circumstance, FuoriFest and FuoriFuoco Como will not be considered liable for unauthorised use of copyrighted content. FuoriFest reserves the right to reproduce the documentary or use it (complete or parts of it) for non-commercial communication purposes.
3. COMPETITION PROCEDURES
3.1 JURY AND SELECTION PROCESS
All works registered in the competition will be viewed and selected by the FuoriFest’s organization committee.
3.2 WINNER’S ANNOUNCEMENT
The finalist or finalists will be announced on October 20th, 2023 and they will be invited of the screening od the project, which will be on November 4th, 2023 at 9 p.m. in Como.
The winners of the open call will be awarded with the screening of the documentary in Como and videomeking equipement worth 300€.
Registration in the competition can be done by filling out the online form available on www.fuorifuococomo.it. Works that are not downloadable or accompanied by incomplete forms or without italian subtitles will not be taken into consideration. Teasers and complete videos can also be sent at the e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org via WeTransfer or Dropbox. The finalists will then be asked for a highdefinition, full HD copy of their video, to be screened during the FuoriFest 2023.
Applications will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. (Central European Time) on October 15th, 2023.
Each author is personally liable for the content of the submitted works. Participation in the competition implies complete acceptance of the rules, releasing the organisation for all civil and penal liability toward third parties.
By submitting the participation form, the participants declare to accept the conditions of this call for entries and authorise the use of their personal data according to the Italian personal data protection code (legislative decree n. 196/2003). The submitted material will not be returned. The authors authorise FuoriFest to keep a copy of the submitted works in their archives, for the non-profit purposes of documentation, learning and study.
